Distant view of the Peterson Creek tramway, used to transport lumber from the Peterson Creek sawmill to the railroad at the bottom of the Eagle River Canyon. The picture was taken from the Champion Mine at Bell's Camp. The steep terrain is testimony to the difficulty in logging in this area.

Everett Warren sitting on lumber at the Warren Brothers & Robinson sawmill. The timbers were used in mine stoping at Gilman. Everett was a partner in the sawmill and, in later years, worked for Vail Associates cutting runs in summer and driving a snowcar in winter. Everett married Lorna Hargreaves, whom he met in Australia when he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.

"The Frank Burbank home--an early day landmark in Red Cliff was burned to the ground Monday evening--the third disastrous fire in that Eagle County town in as many months.
The home was owned by a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Burbank, Eleanor McIlnay and her husband, Ira.
