The Camp Tigiwon CCC camp on O.W. Randall's ranch. Taken in July of 1933. O.W. Randall's ranch was located between Cross Creek and Fall Creek on the south side of the Eagle River, southeast of Minturn. Crew from this camp built the shelter at Camp Tigiwon, the trail up Notch Mountain and the shelter on Notch Mountain.

Price was the proprietor of the hotel at the time this picture was taken. A sign for Rocky Mountain Motorists, Inc., once associated with the American Automobile Association (AAA) can be seen near the telephone pole.

A freight train near the town of Minturn. Taken in the 1980s or 1990s. The railroad employee next to the diesel locomotive is unidentified. The front diesel locomotive is an EMD GP40-2, and is number 3100. The Denver and Rio Grande ordered 37 EMD GP40-2 diesel locomotives, all of which we transferred to the Union Pacific Railroad following a merger between the two railroads in 1996.

From the verso: "Mother Lupton in Minturn." It's possible that this is Alice Lupton. Alice was born in Arkansas in October of 1856. She married John William 'Bill" Lupton in July of 1871/2 (there are conflicting dates). They moved to the area in the 1880s and settled in Gypsum. For a time however, it appears they resided in Minturn as Bill had accepted a job as a special officer for the Rio Grande Railroad at Minturn. Bill passed away in 1940 at the...
