641) Glenwood Canyon

"Uncle Jake Borah's camp site in Colorado near Sweetwater Lake". Two tents are visible for the camp with several men and horses (plus one pack mule) surrounding the area. A spit in the center holds what appears to be a bear strung up by his feet with other small animals attached. A smattering of snow remains on the small ridge behind the camp. Jake Borah is possibly the second man from right in a wide-brim hat.

Trains of all kinds had trouble with Colorado mountain passes, eventually leading to the elimination of many routes over and through the the Rockies. Mallard engines were steam-powered locomotives developed in Europe and later versions hold the speed record for this category of engine.

The old hotel and store in Fulford, Colorado. At its peak, Fulford once supported its own newspaper, post office, and school. The mines never did produce as expected and the town soon dwindled as its residents moved down the mountain.

The Camp Tigiwon CCC camp on O.W. Randall's ranch. Taken in July of 1933. O.W. Randall's ranch was located between Cross Creek and Fall Creek on the south side of the Eagle River, southeast of Minturn. Crew from this camp built the shelter at Camp Tigiwon, the trail up Notch Mountain and the shelter on Notch Mountain.
