His 160 acre tract was a mile east of Yarmony Creek close to the Grand County line. He added acreage over the years and by 1915 had renamed it "Hidden Valley Ranch." "The Brooks Bridge, built by the railroad company during construction of the Dotsero Cutoff, replaced an earlier one near the same site. It is now in a sad state or repair and unsafe for other than light traffic. Adjacent to the north end of it is the railroad track and it was here that Leonard Horn had the misfortune to be caught by a train while driving cattle across the bridge, resulting in the loss of several head that were struck by the train."...

"The McCoy lane looking west. This 1912 photo [says 1911 on verso of photo] shows the front part of the Hotel on the left, [on the right] the blacksmith shop, the big red barn and the front of the old log barn and beyond it, the bridge across Rock Creek. The big barn, approximately fifty by sixty feet in size, was of frame construction and built by C. H. McCoy in 1902. It had stalls for twenty horses and a loft that held ten tons of loose hay....

The King and Queen of Pioneer Day at McCoy, June 16, 1974, Josephine Kayser Ruehle and Arthur Kayser. Josephine married Carl Ruehle in 1910 and moved to Casper, Wyoming, several years later.
