"Adam Stifel and his wife Edith (sister of Polly Tuck) came into the area with George Brown in about 1890....[He] found a likely place in the cedar country about six miles due west of McCoy where they found about 60 acres of mesa land. Funeral gathering for Nicholas Buchholz, Aug. 8, 1911. Nicholas Buchholz was the father of John Buchholz, with whom he owned and operated a livery stable on the corner of 2d and Broadway, Eagle, Colorado. He was County Assessor at the time of his death.
