Fumiko and Charles Ellis. Charlie was the son of Frank and Laverne Ellis and a cousin to the Beck boys. He grew up and went to high school in Red Cliff and later served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars (U.S. Navy). He met Fumiko Ganaha while stationed in Japan and they were married in 1974.

Elaudia and Procopio Velasquez at a funeral in Leadville.. Elaudia lived in Truchas, New Mexico. She married Procopio Velasquez November 26, 1949. The couple moved to Colorado and Procopio worked for many years as a miner for New Jersey Zinc at Gilman. He passed away in 2005.

Frank Robinson standing in his kitchen in Buena Vista, Colorado. The photo was taken by John Martinez. Frank was the son of Harold Robinson, Safety man for the New Jersey Zinc Co. He had a brother, Fred, and a sister, Jane. Frank lived in Red Cliff and was in a logging company, Warren Brothers & Robinson. He had M.S. for years and died in 2009.

Bud Beck, being shipped from Mindinao, Philippines, to Japan, to act as occupation troops at the end of World War II. At the time, Bud was a T-5 (corporal) and a medic in the 193 Regiment of the 41st Division. "I have no idea what ship we were on, we spent so much time on ships that it was easy to lose track. I was 22 years old at the time."
