The concrete bridge at Wolcott, showing railroad tracks and equipment behind it. The bridge was built in 1916 during the period when the Colorado Highway Department was replacing many small wooden bridges with concrete structures. This one was on State Highway 131 and employed a Luten arch design, patented by Daniel B. Luten in 1905. Eagle County contracted with the Pueblo Bridge Company to build the bridge. The Wolcott bridge over the Eagle River is visible at midfield. It was a Luten arch bridge, constructed in 1916, and has since been replaced.
Lena Yost's father, Frank Sansosti, was the D&RG section foreman at Wolcott for many years. The railroad depot and section house are next to the tracks in this photo. The Sansosti family lived at Wolcott for 27 years.
