A letter written by Chas K. Phillipps to Frank Doll, dated May 28, 1898, from Denver. Charles "Chas" K. Phillipps appears to have lived in Red Cliff prior to moving to Denver, where he practiced law. He interacted with the Doll Brothers as well as Alfred Borah.

As the Doll Brothers ranch grew in size, brothers Frank and Sam built this three-story flour mill, circa 1900. "Considered modern in its time, the mill ground all wheat produced in the area, putting out 80 barrels a day. The mill even imported wheat to grind. After the mill burned, suspicion followed that the fire had been deliberately set by disgruntled businessmen in the area." -- Shirley Welch, The Eagle River Valley, p.114

The photo appears to be of World War II vintage.
Wyon E. Bonar came to Colorado in 1906 and was first employed on the Frank Doll ranch in Gypsum. He opened a barber shop in Red Cliff from 1911 to 1920, and then relocated to Caspter, Wyoming. He returned to Colorado and bought a pool hall and barber shop in Gypsum from Charles Doll in 1923. He had two children, Wyon and Betty Bonar Oliver, with Lenna Lupton Bonar.
