1) Doll cabin

The log cabin built by Frank and Lucy Doll in Dotsero and which was moved to Gypsum around 1890. Most likely Lucy and Frank on the porch with large crate and antlers.

3) Lucy Doll

Lucy Doll standing in front of the original Doll family cabin at Dotsero. Franklin and his brother Samuel arrived at Dotsero in 1886. They purchased a ranch in Gypsum Valley which became the Doll Brothers and Condon ranch. Franklin brought his wife Lucy and children Sam and Susan to Dotsero in 1887, coming from Ohio. The family spent the winter of 1887 in this cabin. [Either this photo or 2012.012.001 is flipped.]

1898: Frank Doll with horses brought from Ohio, standing in front of cabin at Dotsero. Frank and Lucy Doll with their children, Sam and Susan, spent the Fall and Winter of 1887 here. The one-room log cabin appears to be on a rock foundation with steps leading up to a small porch at the front door.

Looking west toward Glenwood Canyon, a view of the Doll Ranch at Dotsero. Hwy 6 is at midfield and the Stewart Family cemetery is where the cottonwood trees are located. The Stephens Nursery is at this location now [2012]. The photo was taken in April 1955, after a spring storm.

c.1900: Pack train at the Carbonate mine site (Flat Tops), approximately 12 to 15 miles from Dotsero. The old mining camp was being dismantled and this pack train was taking items from the blacksmith shop, including the bellows. Seven donkeys with three men (l. to r.: Mr. Johnson, Frank Doll, James Dilts). Cut logs in background.

15) Bill Schumm

The Schumm ranch was bought by Frank [H. F.] Doll. It included the current Stephens nursery, house, barns, Two Rivers development, the B & B Gravel Pit [upper hay fields] and up Onion Ridge [cow camp].
