CHRIS HYRUP DIED ENROUTE TO ASPEN DOCTOR'S OFFICE
Chris Hyrup, long time prominent citizen of the Basalt region, died suddenly, enroute to Aspen Sunday. Mr. Hyrup had been 111 with flu since Nov. 12. and Sunday was enroute to Aspen to consult a doctor, accompanied by N. C. Miller and John Hyrup. When Mr. Hyrup entered the car at Basalt, he fainted, and didn’t regain consciousness. He was P'onounced dead of pneumonia upon arrival In Aspen. Funeral services are being held in the Basalt Leeinn Hall today by Father Bosch of Aspen. Burial will be In Fairview cemetery. Basalt. Mr Hyrup was born In Helena. Montana. August 2. 1889 and was married to Hazel Mount In 1913 He was a retired farmer of the Frying Pan district. Mr. Hyrup Is survived by his wife. Hazel; two sons. Eugent of Byers: Staff Sergeant Robert Hyrup statIoned In Puerto Rico: two daughters; Mrs Warren Leonard of Karval and Ensign Patricia Hyrup. Navy Nurse Corps. Long Beach; three brothers: Walter and Otto of Basalt and Alfred of Long Beach; one sister. Mrs. Charles Murray of Long Beach and six grandchildren all of Karval.
