Former Brush Creek resident James Homer Jackson died in Denver on Feb. 24. Jackson was born to Richard Elmer and Rose Beggs Jackson on May 31, 1907 in a dugout. He married Isabelle Anderson on July 3, 1927 at Wiley, Colorado and worked int eh banking business most of his life in La Juna, Eads, Wichita, Kansas, Washington D.C. and Rifle. In 1953, he bought a ranch on Brush Creek which he operated in conjunction with his position at the Rifle Production Credit Association. He was active inthe Democratic Part, the National Farmers Organization and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame. Survivors include his wife, Isabelle of Rifle; a daughter Cheryl Tonse of Boulder; two granddaughters, Tawlys and Trynis Tonso of Boulder, and other relatives.
