HENRY JULEN Edwards Henry Julen was horn March 16, 159 S in Leadville, Colo, and passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Junction January 13, 1963, following a long illness. He had been hospitalized for the past three' months. Mr. Julen graduated from Central High School in Pueblo and from Northwestern University at Evanston, 111., where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He look a higher accounting course at Barnes Business College in Denver then worked for Couch and Pfashmit in Leadville, the Public Service Co,, and Green Brothers in Denver, He also worked for Common,wealth Edison in Chicago then returned to Colorado and was employed by the Empire Zinc Co. in Gilman, where he was injured at work in 1940. A heart condition developed and Mr. Julen has been in poor health since. In spite of his health, he kept busy with electrical wiring and bookkeeping. He was active in local political circles and at the time of his death was the democratic Central Committee secretary. At the time of World War I, he was in R.OTC and in the Engineering Corps. After armistice was declared, he stayed on and finished his Corps training at Colorado University in Boulder. Mr. Julen was a member of the Lutheran Church at Gypsum. He is survived by his sister, Edna Julen, with whom he lived and an uncle, Olaf Juhlen, both of Gypsum. Mr. Julen was buried in Gyp mm January 17, following services in t.ho Methodist (Smirch conducted by Reverend John Mann. Miller Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Bill Gould, Dee Gotschall, Fred Davenport, Henry Knutlh, Marion Baker, and Pete Mullen.
