Graveside services for Phillipene E. Lorig, 95, were held at 2pmTuesday, Jan 16 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.
Mrs. Lorig died Jan. 12 at the E. Dene Moore Memorial Home in Rifle.
She was born March 23, 1894 at Aspen, and was a lifetime resident of Colorado's Western Slope. She attended school in Aspen through high school and then graduated from Western State College at Gunnison.
She was married June 4, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marx L. Lorig. She was a member of PEO, Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lorig was a housewife and a schoolteacher at Jack's Cabin near Gunnison on White River near Rangely, in Meeker and in Telluride. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Surviving are a son, Eugene D. Lorig of Eagle; a daughter, Rosabelle Morgerson of Cincinnati, OH; and a sister, Marie Greeno of Rifle. She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1964 and by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and a son, William M. Lorig.
The Rev. Richmond Stoakes officiated at last weeks' services with members of the Rifle PEO organization also participating.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Grant Mortuary in Craig.
