Dies At The Advanced Age of 91
ELIZABETH MOORE. PIONEER OF WOLCOTT PASSED AWAY IN DEBEQUE LAST FRIDAY.
Another one of the grand old la- 1 dies, a real pioneer of the county has answered the call of death with the passing of Elizabeth Ann Moore on Aug. 31, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jonathan Riggs, at Deßeque, Colo, Elizabeth Ann Brock was born of Martha and George Brock at Macon City, Mo., Aug. 24, 1854, being 91 i years and 7 days old when she died, j She was united in marriage to Math-1 ew Moore Dec. 24, 1875. Mr. Moore ! preceded her in death in 1920. In 1889, with her family, Mrs. 1 Moore moved to Wolcott, Colo., where the family was raised, and which was continuously her home until two years ago when she went to Deßeque to make her home in her declining years with her daughter. During her active years, Mrs. Moore was one of the women who took an active part in all of the affairs of the community, and was highly respected and beloved by all of her neighbors. She became affiliated with the Baptist church when a girl, and was a devoted member of that organization all of her life. Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Della and Aimer of Deßeque, Colo.; Glen of Wolcott; and Edgar, who died three years ago. Besides the children she is survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, and a great many devoted friends. Funeral services for this fine old lady were held in Eagle Monday afternoon, attended by all of her old neighbors of the Wolcott district and many other friends. The body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Eagle besides that of her husband.
