MRS. FRANK NEWCOMER BURIED IN GLENWOOD
Mrs. Ethelind B. Newcomer, a resident of Eagle County for over half a century died in a Glenwood nursing home March 13, 1962, and was buried in Glenwood March 15 by the side of her husband and a sister.
Ethelind Bacon was born April 28, 1873 near Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Hiram P. and Ellen Bacon. She spent her childhood in Los Angeles and Chicago, and in the latter place was engaged in art work for ten years.
She came to Colorado in 1901 to visit her folks, then living in Burns in Eagle County. There she met Frank Newcomer, whom she married in November, 1903.
Mr. and Mrs. Newcomer later moved to Brush Creek in the Eagle area, where they soon became foremost among landowners' and stockgrowers.
Following Mr. Newcomer's death several years ago, Mrs. Newcomer took over management of their extensive holdings. She had been in failing health for the past several months, and a patient in Glen Valley Nursing Home, Glenwood.
Graveside services were held In Glenwood by Reverend W. O. Richards of the Glenwood Episcopal Church. Farnum Mortuary was in charge of the 10:000 a. m. services.
