CLAUDE PETERSON
Claude Edwards Peterson, 63, son of the late Olie and Hattie FulL'ord Peterson died at his home in Rifle late Thursday afternoon, August 22 Mr. Peterson had not been ill. Bom on Brush Creek April 28, 1900, Mr. Peterson grew to manhood and was educated in Eagle. On November S, 1923, lie was married to V. Winona Reynolds in Rifle, daughter of die late Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Reynolds Jr. of Eagle. The couple lived in Rifle for a while then returned to Eagle to live then returned to Rifle in 1928. For 28 years he was road supervisor of District 2, Garfield County. He was a member cf tire Presbyterian Ohurch at Rifle and Elks Lodge BPOE, Rifle. Ho was ordained an active Elder in the Rifle Church February, 1951. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lawrence of Rifle and Lance Corporal Lowell Peterson, Santa Ana, Calif, and a daughter Mrs. Lyle (Jeanne) Jaynes, Sacramento, Calif, and one grandchild, Claude Jaynes. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ernest (Fay) Cook, Pueblo; a half-sister, Mrs. Berniece Adair, Las Vegas, Nev. and a half brother Win. F. Kleckner of Eagle. He was preceded in death by a son, Claude. A cousin, Glen Horton, lives on Brush Creek. Tiie Reverend Emanuel Rainer officiated at the funeral service, Monday afternoon, August 26 and burial was in Rifle under direction of Sowder Funeral Home. Mrs. Edmund Miles was organist, and singers were Mrs. Olias. Pfalzgraff and Mrs. O. H. Noel. Pallbearers were Floyd Thurston, Fred Hickox, Wm. Brinkman Robert Bird, Earl Keithly, Jr., and Claude Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were John Fothergill and Lowell Noreu.

CLAUDE PETERSON DIED SUDDENLY THURSDAY

Claude E. Peterson, former Eagle man died very suddenly at his Rifle home laite this afternoon. He and. his wife had just finished- the evening meal when he passed away. He lived in the Eagle area as a child and young nun and for many years held, a responsible position with the Garfield County road staff Mrs. Peterson is the former Winona Reynolds of Eagle, and sister to Marilla R. MoCaim, Enterprise publisher. Mr. Peterson was a half brother of Win. F, Kleckner of Eagle. The Petersons have three children, Jeanne of California; Lowell, in the Marines, and Lawrence of the home. 'Funeral arrangements are pending.
