Longtime Eagle County resident Opal C. Starr died last Saturday at the Palisade Living Center in Palisade, where she had lived since 1994. She was 95.

Born Opal Clara Palmer in Charthage, MO. on May 26, 1904 to Jasper and Ada Palmer, she was the oldest of 13 children.
She married Mack Beaver in 1918 and the family moved to Stilwell, OKlal Six chidren were born to this union. After Mack's death, she married Paul Starr and four more children added to the family. Opal moved to Minturn with her four youngest in 1946, shere she worked at William's Cafe until she retired in 1973 and moved to Eagle.

Opal leaves behind her sister Betty Baker of Stllwell, ; children Eva Harris of Eagle, Billie Ann (Jimmy) Cline of Wolcott, Pauline Floral of Gypsum; Don (Shirley) Star of Grand Junction; and Ralph (Janice) Starr of Eagle. internment at River View of Minturn.
