Funeral services for Charles Ernest Case, a longtime resident of Eagle will be held at 2 p.m. Friday January 19, at the Eagle Community United Methodist Church. Mr. Case died Sunday, Jan 14 at the Vail Valley medical Center. He was 84. He was born Feb. 25, 1905 in Waldo, Kansas the son of Benjamin Franklin Case and Dora May Snyder Case. He was married March 5, 1927 at the Methodist Church in Eagle to Buena Louise Carter. She preceded him in death in 1978. Mr. Case worked as a Forest Service contractor and was self-employed for 35 years. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He is survived by 8 children, Cora May Henry of Springfield, MO., Charles T. Case of Sacramento, CA; Kathleen Lewis of Lakewood, Colo, Clarence Case of Arvada, Colo., Leonard F. Case of Fairfield, CA, Barbara Jean Clark of Rawlins, WY, Everett L. Case of Eagle and Kenneth F. Case of Delta, Colo; one sister, Billie Redding of Aurora, CO, 32 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Elder of Chillicothe, OH and William Case of Fruita, Colorado, and one sister, Ruby Naylor of Newton, Kansas. The Rev. Don Lagge of Belle Fourche, S.D. will officiate at Friday afternoon's funeral services. Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle. Farnum-Richardson Mortuary of Glenwood Springs is in charge of arrangements.
