THOMAS EDMUND COLLINS.
Thomas E. COLLINS was born Oct. 23, 1893 at Bells Camp, near Red Cliff to James and Charlotta COLLINS.
He grew to manhood in Red Cliff and was an employee of the Empire Zinc Co.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving as a wagoner in Company E, 341 Field Artillery, 30th Division and was in four major battles in France, then served in the Army of Occupation and was honorably discharged at Fr. D. A. Russell, Wyo. in 1919.
Aug. 20, 1919, Mr. COLLINS and Mrs. Fannie E. LAW were married and made their home in Red Cliff.
He was a charter member of American Legion Battle Mountain Post 47; Last Squad and Masonic AF & AM No. 43.
Mr. Collins died in Veterans Hospital in Grand Junction Dec. 7, 1956 after a three years' illness.
He is survived by his wife, Fannie, a step-daughter, Ethel BAYER, both of Minturn; a sister, Marie WARREN of Red Cliff; three brothers, Wm., Harvey and Phillip S. of Denver and James A. of Greeley.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Farnum Mortuary, and conducted by Rev. John PORTER from the First Presbyterian Church in Minturn. Soloist was Roxie SALDIN and Lillian HALL was at the organ.
Pallbearers were John CADDY, Harry NOTTINGHAM, Wm. FITZGERALD, Merritt DISMANT, Jack ELLIOTT and Emil ERLANDSON.
Legion and Masonic graveside services were conducted at Riverside [sic.] Cemetery, Minturn.
