Joy Ann Hueber Frank, 85, a longtime resident of Glenwood Springs, went to be with her Lord, Jan. 27, a month after suffering a stroke.

She was born in Covington, Ky., on Nov. 12, 1925, to John and Dorothy Hueber. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she obtained a home economics degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Joy and her former husband, Ed, raised their four children (three sons and a daughter) in Ohio. She moved to Glenwood Springs 24 years ago to be closer to her two sons who had made their homes in the state. She initially lived up Four Mile in the Oak Meadows subdivision, then moved to the Holiday House Condominium in town where she lived for many years.

Joy took pleasure in gardening, and tended flower and vegetable gardens for many years. She also enjoyed painting and produced several watercolor canvasses of flowers. For many years Joy was active in the Glenwood Springs Gardening Club and the local Art Guild. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the senior lunches at Colorado Mountain College.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy Vaughan; and her brother, John Hueber. A daughter, Angela Frank Michael, who passed on in 1996, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Marlene Frank of Phoenixville, Pa.; Phil and Jean Frank of Eagle; and Walter Frank and his wife Nancy Trimmer of Steamboat Springs. Grandchildren Justin, Nicole (Bligh), Zachary and Carey Frank of Pa.; Kirstin David of Eagle; and Roy Michael of Oregon also survive Joy. In addition, Joy is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Stephen's Church or Alpine Home Health & Hospice.
