Ida Lorena BAIR of Carbondale died Jan. 23 in Glenwood Springs. She was 95.
Mrs. BAIR was born May 4, 1899 in Ashley, Ut to William Alton and Nettie Laura (WARD) SMITH. She married Elmer BAIR at Bair Ranch on Oct. 22, 1921. The couple worked their 640 acre sheep operation, the Bair Ranch, together for many years. Ida and Elmer were married for over 73 years.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer BAIR of Carbondale; daughters laura MELTON of Carbondale and Lois WALLER of Riverton, Ut.; brother Cecile SMITH of Buena Vista, Colo.; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Two grandsons, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death, as did several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Glenwood Springs Ward. Bishop Brook ROBISON will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosebud Cemetery.
Visitation hours at the Farnum-Holt Funeral Home will be Thursday, Jan. 26, 8-11 a.m. Donations in memory of Ida may be made to the charity of choice.
