Emma Christine Olson was born in Holland county Sweden Nov. 26, 1872 and departed this life at Gypsum, Colo., March 12, 1949.
Her girlhood was spent in Sweden but at the age of 18 she came to America, settling at Leadville, Colo. A year later she was married to Gustav Anderson who preceded her in death 12 years ago. To them were born nine children, all of whom survive.
With her family she moved to Gypsum where she has resided the past 40 years.
She leavs to mourn her loss nine children, Elma Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Lillian Anderson, Ruth Frazier and Georgia Lewis, all of Gypsum, Carl Anderson of Glenwood Springs, Thelma Wilson of Eagle, Elvira Ferguson of Portola, Calif., and Anna Magnee of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Betty Olson of Gypsum, an aged brother in Sweden, 1 grandchildren, two great grand-children, numerous nieces and nephews and a score of sorrowing friends.
Services were held at the Lutheran church at Gypsum, Wednesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. Rev. Weinrich of Holy Cross Lutheran church of Glenwood Springs officiated.
Two duets, "Beautiful Isle: and "Under His WIngs" were sung by Mrs. Dorothy Gerard and MRs. Claire Lundgren assisted by Mrs. Lola Borah at the piano.
Five sons-in-law, Wm. Ferguson, John Anderson, Merrial Frazier, Eldon Wilson and Clarence Lewis and one grandson-in-law, Evan Mayne, acted as pall bearers.
She was buried in Cedar Hill cemetery at Gypsum by the side of her husband.
