Gustaf Waldemar Anderson
Gust Anderson, one of Gypsum's old residents, passed away in a Denver hospital last Friday, March 5, 1937. Mr. Anderson had been in poor health for the past four years, and for several weeks past he had declined rapidly, and was taken to a Denver hospital about two weeks ago.
Gustaf Waldermar Anderson was born in Sweden June 15, 1868. When 17 years of age he came to the United Stats and to Colorado, and for a number of years worked as a miner in the mining camps of this state.
in 1892, he was united in marriage to Emma Olson. To this union nine children were born--Elma Anderson, Oscar Anderson, Mrs. Lillian Anderson, Mrs. Ruth Frazier, Mrs. Georgia Lewis, Gypsum, Colo.; Mrs. Thelma Wilson, Eagle, Colo.; Carl Anderson, Red Cliff, Colo.; Mrs. Elvira Ferguson, Portola, Calif.; Mrs. Anna Magnee, Los Angeles, Calif.
He is survived by his widow and nine children; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Askling, Worcester, Mass.; Mrs. Regina Anderson, Santa Monica, Calif.
Funeral services were held from the Lutheran Church in Gypsum Monday afternoon, with Rev. Geo. Eller delivering the funeral discourse. Following the church services the funeral cortege moved to Cedar Hill cemetery, where the body of Gust Anderson was lovingly laid to rest.
