Jackson Reeves Anderson, aged 47 years, died at the J.A. Hyde ranch near Edwards on Thursday morning, May 2. He had been ill for weeks with Bright's disease complicated with other ailments and had suffered intensely. Mr. Anderson had lived on the ranch about a year, coming with his wife and family from Falcon, Colorado, near Colorado Springs.

Mr. Anderson was a benefit member of Falcon Camp, No. 307, Woodmen of the World. The camps of the order at Eagle and Wolcott were notified of the demise and made preparations to attend the funeral service. On Sunday morning the following neighbors drove up from Eagle: J.L. Herwick, consul commander; H.F. Kane, acting adviser lieutenant; Peter Stein, manager. Neighbors Fred Herwick and Tom Gleason. They were accompanied by Sam Moninger. At Wolcott, the party was joined by these members of the Wolcott camp: William Olfs, consul commander; Neighbors Roy Ridgeway, Jerry Gorman, J.A. Howland, John Holland, and Vern Perch. Neighbors John McCoy of Eagle camp, and Webb Metcalf of Minturn camp joined the party at the residence of the deceased.

The prevailing bad weather and bad roads prevented a much greater attendance.

Rev. Mr. Gordon of Eagle was present and conducted the services at the residence. he paid a noble tribute to the Woodman order an dits attributes of loyalty and fraternal impulses.

Mr. Anderson is survived by a wife, three sons, and two daughters. So far as known this is the first Woodman funeral to occur in Eagle County.
