Emery Arbaney Died of Accident Injuries
Emery Daniel Arbaney died at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Sunday, July 1, following an accident at his ranch near Basalt Saturday. He was 80 years of age.
Mr. Arbaney was born Sept. 7, 1881 at Aosta, Italy. At the age of 12 years he came to the United States and Basalt, Colorado, having lived there 68 years.
In 1908 he married Lottie Alice Clavel who preceded him in death in 1933. He married Jessie Prendergast at Meeker in 1936.
Mr. Arbaney was a member of the Catholic Church and of the Basalt IOOF Lodge.
He is survived by a son, Frederick of Basalt; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Lucille) Nelson of Fruita; a step-daughter, Mrs. Wm. (Kathryn) Long of Grand Junction and one brother, Peter, of Aosta, Italy.
The Reverend Joseph Murphy of St. Stephen's Catholic Church conducted the funeral Mass in Glenwood Springs July 3. Interment was in Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood, with Farnum Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
