Laura Mae Gordon was born July 8, 1891 at Stilwell, OK to William and Callie Gordon and grew to womanhood in what was the Indian Territory. In 1909 she was married to Pierce Clark of Stilwell. Three children were born to this union: Ruby of Gypsum, Colorado; James of Philadelpha, PA; and Jack of Gypsum. In addition to her own children, Laura helped raise a stepson, Cullen, now living in Denver and an orphan cousin, John Dee Wright.

The family moved to Colorado in 1916 and she lived in Gypsum most of the time since. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband in 1948. She is survived by her children, five grandchildren: Jack Schroeder, Joe, Jean, Jim, and Alan Clark; two sisters: Mrs. Vern Kutz of Highland, CA, Mrs. Erv Eaton of Stilwell; two brothers: OAtman Gordon of Minturn and Ben Gordon of Norwalk, CA.

Mrs. Clark was a member of the Methodist Church and had been since girlhood. At one time she was a member of the Eastern Stgar and at her death was an active member of Crater Rebekah Lodge serving as Noble Grand in 1933.

Funeral services were held Dec. 30 at the Gypsum Methodist Church, the Rev Daniel Clark officiating. She was laid to rest beside her husband in Cedar Hill cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by Crater Rebekah. Pallbearers were Eugene Slaughter, Louie Rimbert, Bill Bindley, Jim Phillips, Sam Sixkiller, and Bob McIlveen.

Laura was a beloved mother and stepmother, and to her many friends, young and old, her kind and thoughtful deeds will always be a cherished memory.
