Jesse Carson Ashlock was born in Sligo, Mo., May 1, 1886, and died in a Leadville, Colo., hospital September 16, 1937, after but a few days' illness of pneumonia.
For twenty-two years the deceased was associated with F.C. and H.H. Wallower being superintendent of mines for them in Oklahoma and Colorado. For a number of years he lived in Red Cliff where he was superintendent on the Liberty mine. Since leaving Red Cliff a few months ago, he has been employed by the Climax Molybdenum company at Climax.
Funeral services in charge of Meyer Funeral Home, were held at Red Cliff Sunday afternoon, Rev. T. B. McDivitt of Eagle preaching the discourse. During the church service, Mrs. Norlander and Mrs. Alice Anderson sang, "The Hour of Prayer," "Step by Step," and "Nearer My God to Thee," with Mrs. Ollie Meyer at the piano. Pall bearers were Robert Johnson, D. B. Williams, Jas. Thorpe, Al Reeder, John Caddy, S. E. Burgess.
He was a very active member of the Ottowa Masonic lodge No. 478 in Pitcher, Okla., having taken the 32d degree in Masonry at Guthrie, Okla., in 1923, and was president of the Rose Croix club. He was also an active member of the Odd Fellows lodge in the jurisdiction of Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Anna E. Ashlock; three sons, Howard, Charles, and LaVern; one daughter, Mrs. Elinore Doyle and seven grandchildren.
