Dorothy Elsie Collett 1919-2009
Dorothy Elsie Collett, 89, of Delta died Saturday, Jan. 31 at Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, CO.
She was born August 1, 1919 in Gypsum to Edward and Alice Hale Lea. She married George Collett on October 3, 1936 in Salida, CO. She moved to Delta from Clifton, CO to be with her daughter in 2002. She spent many years in Eagle, Gypsum, and Glenwood Springs area of Colorado prior to moving to Clifton. She was a former member of the Gypsum Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, flower gardening and Punkin, her companion cat.
She is survived by a daughter, Sonya Bertroch of Delta, CO; two granddaughters: Melody (Joe) Clark of Grand Junction, CO and Valerie (Bob) Ross of Delta, CO; six great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents, two brothers, and a sister. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mesa View Mortuary-Cemetery, Delta, Colorado.
