Jackie Jarolimek died Monday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction with Jim, her husband of 61 years, and daughter Patty Dorf of Eagle by her side. She was 81. Jarolimek was born in Great Falls, Mont., on Jan. 16, 1925, the daughter of Adele Grills and James Porter.A resident of Grand Junction for the past 16 years, Jarolimek and her husband had lived in Choteau, Mont., and Billings, Mont.

When younger, Jarolimek enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and later her interests broadened to include golf and skiing, family members said. Skiing became the family’s a life-long hobby and brought them to Colorado, family members said. Jarolimek and her husband were actively involved in the lives of their children, grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and she recently spend a happy weekend in Eagle with her daughter, two of her grandchildren, her three great-grandsons and her new great-granddaughter, family members said.

Jarolimek was preceded in death by her brother, William Porter, and her son, James.She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter Patricia Dorf (Robert); daughter-in-law Janis Crosmer; sister Adele Jenkins (Stanley), brother Jon Rein (Raylene); grandchildren Sara Jarolimek, Heather Dorf Rawlings and Erik Dorf; great-grandchildren Porter Rawlings, Jensen Rawlings, McCarthy Dorf and Annabel Dorf; and many nieces, nephews and friends.Services will be in Grand Junction at noon on Saturday, at the Nellie Bechtel apartment clubhouse, 3032 N. 15th St., and in Choteau, Mont., on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s church. There will be a vigil at Gorder’s Mortuary at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Internment will be at the Choteau Cemetery.
