BERTHA COWDEN DIED IN GRAND JUNCTION.
Mrs. Bertha Esther COWDEN, 68 of Gypsum, died early Friday morning in St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. She had been ill two months.
She was born, Bertha Esther WORLEY, in Oklahoma, November 13, 1901 and lived there until 48 years ago, at that time coming to Eagle County. She married John Henry COWDEN at Stillwell, Oklahoma Feb. 23, 1918.
Mr. and Mrs. COWDEN ranched in the Edwards-Eagle and Gypsum area, coming here in 1921. Mr. COWDEN died in 1961 at Gypsum.
The funeral service was conducted in Gypsum Monday.
Surviving are two sons, James D. of Gypsum and Bob of Pueblo; a daughter, Mrs. Cleo ROBERTS of Shepherd, Mont.; two sisters; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. COWDEN was a member of Crater Rebekah Lodge of Gypsum.
