Clarence William Lewis of Grand Junction died March 20 at the Palisade Living Center in Palisade. He was 93. A graveside service was held March 24 at Gypsum's Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dan Bohall officiating. Mr. Lewis was a self-employed entrepreneur and Grand Junction resident for the last 3 years. He was born Feb. 14, 1903 to Henry and Jennie Stephens Lewis in Ridgeway, WI where he spent his childhood and attended school. He married Georgia Anderson on December 1, 1930 in Grand Junction. He came to Gypsum in 1925 to work for his uncle, Henry Stephens, on a ranch in the Sweetwater area. He lived in Gypsum from 1936 to 1992 when he moved to the Fruitvale area near Grand Junction. Survivors include his wife, Georgia; son Glenn W. Lewis of Lincoln City, OR; daughter Barbara Johnson of Denver; sister Emma Himsel of Verona, WI; grandsons Todd Proctor, Bradley Proctor, Robert Proctor and his wife, Mary Ann, and William Weiffrenbauch, 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. McLean Funeral Home in Palisade was in charge of arrangements.
