Francy Kurtz Antonides Lundberg Lived. She lived with her
friends and family around her chatting, laughing and telling stories
until she left us.
The stories of Francy’s life tell the tale of Colorado. From her pioneer
parents, Clarence and Edna Kurtz, who helped to build this
state, to her shenanigan’s growing up trying to break the bonds of
conventional thinking in a small town with her brothers Bill and Jim
Kurtz. She grew to be a grand and elegant lady, a title that would
make her uncomfortable, but that she secretly knew she deserved.
Individuals and educational institutions around the world have felt
Francy’s generosity. She wanted others to have the opportunities
that she had been given; those opportunities always entailed
stretching the mind. She gave many people the chance to travel and
see the beauty and challenges of our world. She gave unbounded
funds to the many schools and colleges that she and her family attended.
Many of those are campuses in Colorado. Francy loved an
open mind and thought that these were the tools that helped achieve
that goal. Thank you, we are all better for your dedication to these
ideals.
Francy’s favorite role was Mother; she brought five children into
this world, Hunter Antonides, Jim Antonides, Susan Antonides,
Roxanne Lundberg Moore and Carla Lundberg Mumm and nurtured
ever so many more. Most of the five married and their families
grew and even those families have grown so that now we are
countless. We will miss her with wild abandon, but the stories will
never end. We thank you again for what you have done to make our
world a better place. We hope that we have learned and will follow
your lead.
If so inclined donations may be made to Hospice of Steamboat
with the fervent wish that others will graduate hospice care and go
chase dreams on California beaches.
We think back with great love and respect to a great lady.
