Lois R. Anderson passed away June 29 at the Family Health West in Fruita. She was 90. A former Eagle School teacher, Mrs. Anderson was born March 4, 1902 in Potwin, KS to Forrest Rose and Blanche Longstreth Rose. She spent her childhood throughout western Colorado and graduated from high school in Montrose. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs and received a master's degree in education from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. She married David Alfred Anderson on August 24, 1933 in Wheatridge. Mr. Anderson preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Anderson was a retired school teacher having taught in Glenwood Springs and Gilcrest as well as Eagle. She had lived in Grand Junction since 1973. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction. She also belonged to the National Retired Teachers' Association and the Grand Junction Knife and Fork Club. Her special interests included reading, music, and her church. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and on sister. She is survived by her sons Arlynn D. Anderson of Grand Junction and Norling Anderson of Nucla; brother Gerald Rose, of Eagle; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. No services are planned at this time.
