Stacy O’Loughlin, died April 4 at home in Mesa, Colorado, after a battle with brain cancer. She was 45.

O’Loughlin was born to Tom and Bonnye Bird in Lakewood on April 1,1961. She spent her childhood in Lakewood before moving with the family to Georgetown, where she attended Clear Creek High School. After graduating high school, Stacy moved to Vail, where she began her lifelong career in the ski industry. During her 26 years in retail sales, O’Loughlin was a buyer and manager for many ski shops. Her last position was as manager of The Alpine Trader at Powderhorn ski area in Mesa.She married Jim O’Loughlin in 1990 while working in Vail. The two were married on the beach at Harbor Island, Bahamas May 4, 1992. They moved to Campton, N.H., where they worked at Waterville Valley ski area for five years. The couple moved to Mesa in 1997 and worked at Powderhorn ski resort for the past nine years.

O’Loughlin is survived by her husband of 14 years, Jim O’Loughlin; brother, Mike Bird and wife, Susan of Henderson; brother, Bill Bird and wife, Meredith of Grand Junction; Uncle Jack and Aunt Delores MulQueen of Hot Sulfur Springs; and Aunt Pat MulQueen. Additional family members include cousins, nephews and nieces.

A memorial mass is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 790 26-12 Rd., Grand Junction.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Stacy O’Loughlin’s name to Plateau Valley Hospice& Palliative Care, P.O. Box 294, Collbran, CO 81624.
