Mrs. RANDALL, who was born into a pioneer family in Colorado, died Saturday at Heritage Park Care Center in Carbondale. She was 101.
She was born Aug. 11, 1888, to John NELSON and Lillian Elizabeth Cook YOST in Leadville. At the age of 2, she moved with her family to Dotsero. They returned to Leadville and in 1896 moved back to Dotsero, where her family homesteaded a ranch. In 1903, her mother died, leaving behind six children, ages 3 to 15. She married William James "Will" Randall in February 1906 in Eagle. The couple lived and worked on the R.P. Woods ranch north of Eagle. They later owned a home in Eagle. In 1910 they moved to the Hume White ranch on Brush Creek, where they raised their family. In January 1951 they retired from ranching and moved to Gypsum where they bought the Gypsum Hotel.
The couple celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary before Mr. RANDALL's 95th birthday. He died Sept. 22, 1975.
Mrs. RANDALL was a member of Gypsum Community United Methodist Church; Eagle Chapter 86 of the Order of the Eastern Star; and Crater Rebekah Lodge 105 in Gypsum.
