JOHN HENRY SCHURR.
John SCHURR, 83, of Burns died in a Glenwood hospital August 10, following a six-months illness.
Mr. SCHURR had been a resident of Eagle County for 39 years, moving here in 1916.
He was born at Luray, Kansas, August 19, 1872 and spent his childhood in Russell County, Kan.
In 1898 he married Helen A. KIMBLE, who preceded him in death in August,1928.
Mr. SCHURR was a railroader until his retirement in 1928, and was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by six sons: Orie, Dave, Donald of Denver; Murl, Klemm of Grand Junction; and Frank of New York and two daughters: Mrs. Wanda MORRIS of Fraser and Mrs. Goldie GATES of Burns, with whom he made his home.
Three brothers,Will and Frank of Luray and Bert of California, one sister, Ida HILER of California and 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.
Services were conducted by Rev. Byron HASSTEDT at the Gypsum Methodist church August 14 and interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Gypsum. Burdge Mortuary was in charge of funereal arrangements.
