Alice Forsling Ekstrom of Grand Junction died March 21, 2001. She was 92. Alice was born Feb 25, 1909 near Kimball, Neb. to Gustave Forsling and Hilda Bergquist. She married Leonard Ekstrom April 21, 1934 in Steamboat Springs. They lived in Pine Bluffs, Wyo. and farmed in Nebraska. They ranched near Yampa, and moved to Denver in 1976. Alice and Leonard were farmers and ranchers; they raised wheat and sheep in Wyoming and sheep near Yampa until they retired. Alice taught school for six years before her marriage. Alice was a member of the Yampa Ladies Aide, served many years with the PTA in Yampa and was one of the organists at the Yampa Bible Church. She was a member of the Pine Bluffs Methodist Church and later the Yampa Bible Church She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and several bridge clubs through the years. She is survived by a sister, Billie Hodge of Ashland, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Janet Forsling of West End, N.C. and a brother-in-law, Gil Robbins of Cheyenne; four daughters, Lenore Whitmore of Broomfield; Jo Casey of Tulsa, Okla; Sonja Honnen of Grand Junction; Mary Benware of Clear Lake, Wis.; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990.

Services were held at the Arvada Covenant Church in Arvada. She was buried at Highland Hills Cemetery March 24, 2001in Thornton.
