Former Steamboat Springs resident Sandy Swinehart passed away Feb. 14, 2009, at his home in Grand Junction. He was 64.
Sandy was born in Fort Worth, Texas, but spent his childhood being raised in Steamboat Springs by his parents, Bob and Charlie Swinehart. He graduated high school in Steamboat Springs and continued on to the University of Colorado and St. Paul Bible College, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in theology. He worked as a master craftsman and was a member of the River of Life Church.
Sandy was a great lover of the outdoors, spending some of his time fly-fishing. He also enjoyed performing arts, church, creating and photography.
Sandy leaves behind his daughter, Miriam Swinehart, of Austin, Texas, and her mother, Colleen Finley, of Buena Vista; his brother, Doug Swinehart and family, of Taos, N.M.; and his two sisters, Jean Ann Swinehart, of Windsor, and Vikki Evensen, of Grand Junction.
Services were held Feb. 19 at the River of Life Church in Grand Junction. Memorial contributions can be made to the River of Life Church building fund at 701 24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81505.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Martin Mortuary.
