Donald Duncan Webb
1920 - 2000

Donald Webb died in his home in Grand Junction on April 9.

Donald was born to Walter Francis Webb and Dolly Esther Duncan [Webb] on September 10, 1920 in Eagle. As a member of a pioneer Eagle County family, he was the first Anglo child born on Bellyache Mountain.

He grew to adulthood and received his education in Eagle County. After graduating from high school he went to Denver to attend business school where he studied accounting. While in Denver he married Byrnece Greenway on November 16, 1946.

After completing his education Donald returned to Eagle County where he became the accountant for New Jersey Zinc Co. mining operation at Gilman. The family lived in Gilman for 38 years until Donald retired and moved to Eagle where he resided until moving to Grand Junction in 1983.

During World War II Donald served in the US Army in the Philipines in Leyte. After the war, he returned to Eagle where he was a lifetime member of the VFW Post.

Donald is survived by his wife, Byrnece of Grand Junction, and daughter, Donna Schultz of San Antonio, TX. He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers Alvin and Robert Webb, and his twin sister, Dolly Duncan.
