Weber

Graveside services for Frank Weber were held Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18. Rev. Steve Goodier officiated and burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery at Gypsum. The Sowder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.


Weber was born on Nov. 12, 1893 at Moulton, Iowa, the son of Charles and Sarah Morrow Weber.

Frank spent his childhood in the Udell, Iowa community and attended area schools.

He married Cecil Hopkins on July 8, 1913 at Douglas, Wyo.

Mr. and Mrs. Weber moved to Colorado, where they lived at Ft. Lupton for many years.

Weber farmed for a period of time and later entered into the carpenter profession.

In 1982 they moved to Eagle County where they lived at Gypsum. For eight years Weber worked at Vail as a carpenter before he retired.

In November of 1981 they moved to Las Vegas, Nev. before moving to St. Petersburg, Fla. in 1982, where they have since made their home.

Weber passed away in Hudson, Fla. on Aug. 15. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Towers, a sister and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Cecil; three sons, Bernard of Moab, Utah, Harold of Gulfport, Fla. and Charles of Las Vegas, Nev.; five daughters, Mrs. Juanita Hester of Hudson, Fla., Mrs. Murrell (Alice) Schuyler of Kodiak, Alaska, Mrs. Joe (Frances) Brethauer of Silt, Mrs. Jim (Betty) Brewer of Gypsum, and Mrs. Jim (Wanda) McClure of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great granddaughters, other relatives and many friends.
