Robert (Bob) Wells, former Eagle man, passed away recently in the Rifle hospital at the age of 66 years.
Mr. Wells was born at Pueblo, August 1, 1897 to Frank E. and Martha Susie Wells. At the age of six, Robert moved with his parents to Western Colorado living at Eagle. He enlisted in the Army at Red Cliff in September 1918, and following his tour of military duty married Bessie Mae Green on August 24, 1919. Mr. and Mrs. Wells moved to New Mexico in 1921 where he entered the service of the Santa Fe Railroad as conductor. Mrs. Wells died in 1948.
Survivors are his mother, Susie Wells of Rifle; three sons: Irvin E. and Raymond C. of Ft. Worth Texas and Robert J. of Las Cruces N. Mex. A sister, Mrs. Marvin (Helen) Ryden of Rifle and seven grandchildren.
