October 28, 1949 - November 13, 2006

Stephen Wright Wilshire, age 57, of Parachute, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 from a car accident on Interstate 70. Stephen was born on Oct. 28, 1949 in Biloxi, Miss., to Ernest and Kathryn (Wright) Wilshire, where he spent most of his childhood.

He married Patricia Landin in Parachure on Jan. 11, 2000, where he made his home. He moved to Parachute in 1994 from Red Cliff, Colo. He was the general manager of the Kum & Go convenience store in Parachute. Stephen loved his job and was one to help. He loved camping, boating, working in his yard with his roses, and, most of all, Stephen was a family man, and did much for the community. His nickname was Goofy, as he was always playing jokes on people. He wished to be remembered as a person who "Loved deeply his loved ones, did the best he could."

Stephen is survived by his wife; mother Katherine Chambers of Cleveland, Tenn.; children, Mandi Morgan (Justin) of RIfle, Aimee Wilshire of Rifle, Taylor Wilshire of RIfle, Tim Nielsen of Parachute; sister, Susan Hardesty (Scott) from Boulder; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Karen Fountain.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2006, at Battlement Mesa Activity Center. All friends and family are invited.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes all donations go to the Cancer Society, Rocky Mountain Chapter, 621 17th Street Suite 612, Denver, Co. 80293-0701 or to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105-1905.
