Mary Alberta Wiswell, Fruita,
passed away peacefully on June
28, 2010 at Family Health West.
She was born on April 23, 1941 to
Albert and Ione (Myers) Harmon
in Uravan, Colorado. Alberta
grew up in Fruita but with her
father being a miner she would
spend time in mining towns as a
young child.
Alberta married Ron Blair and
they had two children, John and
Phyllis. She married Jack Lea
Wiswell on March 15, 1972 in
Moab, Utah. He passed away on
December 5, 1983 in Fruita.
Jack worked for the railroad and
during the summer months Alberta
would travel to Leadville,
Yampa Valley, Bond, Minturn,
Grandby, and Radium to be with
her husband. She was a housekeeper
at Family Health West and
a waitress. Alberta had many interests including rock hunting, fishing,
doing ceramics, and traveling with her dear friend Ruth, especially
to Mesquite. Grandma Berta adored her grandchildren and
was always in the audience at many of their school programs, plays,
dance recitals, and all other activities. Alberta knew no strangers and
was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was
fondly known as Mom or Grandma to many.
Alberta is preceded in death by her husband, Jack; daughter, Phyllis
Stevens; granddaughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Blair; brother, Charles
Clark, and sister, Phyllis Hill. She is survived by her son, John and
his wife Cheryl, and five grandchildren, Amber Blair, Shayla Blair,
Johnny Blair, Albert Blair, and Allen Blair, and one great grandchild.
Graveside services have already been held. Memorial contributions
can be made to Family Health West, 228 No. Cherry St.,
Fruita, Colorado 81521.

69, Fruita, died June 28, 2010, at
Family Health West.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Snell-
McLean Funeral Home in
Fruita. Services will be 1 p.m.
Friday at New Elmwood Cemetery.
A potluck reception at
Reed Park in Fruita will follow
the services.
Ms. Wiswell was a waitress.
Survivors include one son,
John Blair of Fruita, fi ve grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
