Anthony William (Tony) Martinez passed into the arms of our Lord Thursday, March 31, at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver. He was surrounded by his family.
Tony was born March 7, 1953 in Gilman. He worked at the Gilman mine. He also worked as a security guard for many years.
Tony is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Martinez, and his father, Willie John Martinez.
Tony is survived by his mother, Rafaela Martinez, of Minturn; his son, Angelo (Melissa) Martinez, of New Mexico; daughter Rhonda (Steve) Montoya, of New Mexico; grandsons Brandon and Angelo Jr. Martinez; grandaughters Kayla and Alyssa Martinez and Miranda and Sabrina Montoya; great-grandson Brian Martinez; brother Robert (Elaine) Martinez; sister Jennie (Phillip) Guerrero, Della (Leo) Vasquez, Rita (Ernie) Sandoval, Tina (Louie) Vasquez, Melissa Martinez, and Elena (Dennis) Quinn; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special uncle, Pat Martinez.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Life Assembly in Avon. A reception will follow at New Life.
