the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center.

He worked in construction.
Survivors include one son,
Robert of Farmington, N.M.;
one daughter, Diann Hesker
of Lakewood; one half-brother,
Albert Albush of Eugene, Ore.;
one sister, Rose DeSiato of Long
Beach, Calif.; one half-sister,
Barbara Deichmeister of Dana
Point, Calif.; four grandchildren;
and four great-grandchildren.

Louis “Louie” J. Tornatore passed away June 29 at the VA Hospice
Care Center. Cremation was under the direction of
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary.
Louie was born in Montrose, Colorado to Batista and Margaret
(Bertorello) Tornatore who are deceased. His older brother, Maurice
Tornatore, a half brother, Laddie Albush and a half sister, Fidelia
Albush preceded him in death.
Louis, his brothers and sisters attended school at Uncompahgre and
Montrose High School. He joined the Army in December of 1941,
and was deployed in the Pacific and European Theaters. He was
honorably discharged in October of 1945. Louis married Eula Roberts
in June of 1947. They lived in Montrose for several years as
Louis worked for C.E. Mills & Sons Construction, later, moving to
Grand Junction he continued to work with construction until he retired
in 2001.
Louis is survived by two children, Dianna (Barry) Hesker of
Lakewood, Colorado and Robert Louis (Ginger Miller) Tornatore of
Farmington, NM; a sister, Rosie DeSiato, Long Beach, CA; half
brother, Albert Albush of Eugene, OR; half sister, Barbara Diechmeister
of Dana Point, CA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and children and grandchildren from an
extended family.
Services will be held July 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with the Honor
Guard officiating at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, support the Hospice & Palliative Care.
