DEATH OF AARON F. GRAHAM.
Aaron F. GRAHAM, one of Eagle county's oldest and best known citizens died at his home in Red Cliff Sunday evening, December 24, 1922, double pneumonia being the cause of his death.
Aaron F. GRAHAM was born at Bethel, Maine, March 2, 1847, and grew to manhood in that community. He was a graduate of a college at Lewiston, Maine. He early answered the call of the West and came to Denver and Central City. Returning to his native state, he was united in marriage in 1870 to Miss Mary Emma HART at Lewiston, Maine. The union was blessed with one daughter, Olivia I. Graham MEYER.
The young couple came back West, settling at Clay Center, Kansas, where Mr. GRAHAM was engaged in the dry goods business. In the spring of 1881 Mr. and Mrs. GRAHAM moved to Red Cliff, residing there since. Since that time, Mr. GRAHAM has been closely identified with the life of that community with the exception of a short time in the early nineties when he joined in the Alaskan gold rush.
In 1903 he was licensed as a mortician, graduating from the St. Louis College of Embalming and he stood high in his profession.
Eagle county will long regret the passing of Mr. GRAHAM and the county extends its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved daughter, County Superintendent of Schools Ollie I. Graham MEYER, who has been called upon to mourn the loss of both parents within the past thirteen months.
Interment was made in the Evergreen [sic.] cemetery at Red Cliff Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. J. P. CLARK of the Presbyterian church at Glenwood Springs.
