MRS. JOE HARRIS DIED IN CALIFORNIA SATURDAY. Mrs. Joseph HARRIS, long time resident of Eagle, died in Quincey, California, Saturday morning in the home of her daughter, Luella THAYER, following a light stroke.
Word was received here by Ernie NOGAL, son-in-law, that the remains will be brought to Eagle for burial and services will be held Friday afternoon, April 27 at the Methodist church.
Mrs. HARRIS had been in apparent good health prior to her death, and had planned to return to Eagle next month for the summer months.

MARY GINTHER HARRIS. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Church in Eagle Friday, April 27 for Mary Ginther HARRIS, who died April 21, 1951, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. H. THAYER in Quincey, Calif. Mrs. HARRIS was active to the last, becoming ill in the morning of April 21 and died early that evening.
Mary GINTHER was born December 29, 1869 in Fairhaven Township, Ill., one of a family of eight boys and two girls. Four brothers survive: Geroge GINTHER, Rockford, Ia.; Will GINTHER, Chicago; Charles of Chadwick, Ill.; and Conrad of Thompson, Ill. One brother, Henry made his home in Eagle and died several years ago.
She was married to Joseph Harris, October 10, 1889 at Chadwick, Ill. To this union were born four daughters: Grace, who died in 1929; Hazel, who died in 1947; Anna Elizabeth WILKINS of Alhambra, Calif. and Luella Mae THAYER of Quincey, California.
Mr. and Mrs. HARRIS moved from Illinois to Kansas and then to the state of Colorado 55 years ago. For a time they farmed on the Doll ranch on Gypsum creek, moving to Eagle in 1902. Mr. and Mrs. HARRIS made their home in Eagle and he passed away in 1945. For the past three years she made her home in California, visiting in Eagle during the summers, and last year made a trip to Iowa and Illinois to visit her brothers and other relatives. She had planned to return here during May to visit her friends here.
She was a faithful attendant at the Community Methodist Church in Eagle and attended the Community Church in Quincey, taking an active part in the work of Women's Society of Christian Service in both the communities. Rev. MILLER pastor of the Quincey church held memorial service after church April 22 for the deceased.
The memorial service in Eagle was conducted by Rev. Paul A. SHIELDS and Mrs. Charles BYERS, Mrs. Glen CHAMBERS, Mrs. Ida DICKERSON and Mrs. Alvin RULE sang in a quartet. Burial was in the Eagle cemetery beside her husband and two daughters. Arrangements were under direction of Bowman Funeral Chapel.
Pall bearers were her nephews: Roy FAIR, Bernard GINTHER, Leonard GINTHER, Laawrence HILTON, Lester POULSON and Roy SLICE.
Surviving other than her two daughters and four brothers are a son-in-law, Ernie NOGAL; six grandchildren, four great granddaughters, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Here from out of town for funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. L. H. THAYER of Quincey; Mrs. Elizabeth WILKINS, her daughters, Roberta and Mrs. Oliver SPARKS and Mr. SPARKS, of Alhambra, Calif.; Mrs. Winifred GINTHER, of Derby; [----]
