C. L. HARTMAN DIED IN DENVER ON MONDAY.
Mrs. George WATSON of Eagle received word that her brother-in-law, C. L. (Boze) HARTMAN died Monday afternoon in his Denver home following a heart attack 24 hours earlier.
Mr. HARTMAN, at one time prominent in Eagle county livestock circles, had been in apparent excellent health and had visited here recently. Sunday he was stricken with the attack, and passed away the day following.
He was taken ill on his 67th birthday, and for that occasion his son, John, and the family had come from their home in Gunnison to help with the anniversary celebration. They had left to return to their home but a short time before Mr. HARTMAN's illness. The younger Mr. HARTMAN returned by plane to Denver to be with his father and mother. There are two other sons and a daughter who survive.
Funeral services were held yesterday from the Capitol Mortuary, Denver, and all his children wee present but one son, James who is somewhere on the Pacific with the Merchant Marines. A duaghter, mary BUECHLER came from her home in Cincinnati; William from Cortez, and John of Gunnison. His widow, Sallly [sic.] Hartman is the daughter of the late John Welsh, prominent in development of Eagle and vicinity, and early day business and cattle man of the county.

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO CHARLES 'BOSE' HARTMAN. Charles L. "Boze" HARTMAN, veteran Colorado brand inspector located at the Denver market, died suddenly last week. He suffered a heart attack Sunday at his home, 3911 Lowell Blvd., and passed away Monday afternoon at St. Joseph's hospital.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 1 p.m., Capitol Mortuary and interment at Fairmount Cemetery. Among the pallbearers were Leon WATSON, Adam WAGNER, Lawrence WALSH, Frank REAR, and John DRINKARD.
Mr. HARTMAN had been an inspector at the Denver market for the past 17 years, joining the force of inspectors on Aug. 1, 1932. He was widely known in the Rocky Mountain territory and numbered his friends among the thousands, especially stockmen from all parts of Colorado.
Bose was a native Coloradoan. He was born at Saguache in the San Luis Valley, April 10, 1882. From his youth he was engaged in the stock raising business. For 20 years he, with his father-in-law, the late John WELSH, a member of the State Board of Stock Inspection Commissioners for many years, owned and operated a cattle ranch near Wolcott, where he was active until he became brand inspector.
He was married to Sally [sic.] WELSH on September 15, 1909, who survives him. He also leaves four children, three sons, John C., Gunnison; William J., Cortez; and James L. a Merchant marine now on the seas between Hawaii and Guam; a daughter, Mary BUECHLER of Cincinnati, Ohio, and eight grandchildren. Also two brothers, George of Dillon, Mont Frank of Moscow, Ida., and a sister Mamie MANDEL, Yakima, Wash., survive him.
