Coleen Rae Rule, 84, died May 4 at her ranch home in Gillette. She was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Columbus, Kan., to Fred and Oleta Childers. She spent her younger years in Columbus and moved with her family to Colorado, where she graduated from Arvada High School in 1943.

She was married to Daniel B. Rule on June 24, 1944, in Eagle where they made their home. Mr. Rule joined the Army and served during World War II and Coleen lived on military base in Temple, Texas.

After the war, they lived in Eagle, where they operated the family ranch. Coleen was Clerk of Court for Eagle County and also substitute taught for many years.

They bought the Wagonhammer Ranch north of Gillette in 1980, where they ranched until they retired and moved to Buffalo in 1995. Mr. Rule passed away in October 2000 and Coleen continued living in Buffalo until the time of her death.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and P.E.O. Coleen loved ranch life, gardening, sewing and spending time with friends and her family.

She is survived by one son, Tom Rule and his wife, Barbara, of Buffalo; one son-in-law, Harold Reimler of Mills, Wyoming; two brothers, Bob Childers of Steamboat Springs and Ted Childers of Parksley, Va.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one daughter, Dana Reimler.

Funeral services were held May 7, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with The Rev. Dr. Bob Miller officiating. Burial was in Willow Grove Cemetery.

Donations in Mrs. Rule's memory may be made to the Learning Tree Christian School in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo.
