Grand Junction resident, Senovia
"Sunny" Trujillo-Lopez,
passed away on Sunday, July 11,
2010 at the Hospice Care Center
in Grand Junction, Colorado. She
was 71 years of age.
A memorial service honoring
Senovia's life will be held at
10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17,
2010 at the Taylor Funeral Service
Chapel in Delta with Russ Tyler officiating. Services will conclude
at the mortuary.
Senovia Trujillo was born on June 6, 1939 in Delta, Colorado to
Felix and Lucaria "Carrie" Trujillo. She spent her childhood and attended
schools in Delta.
In December of 1962, Senovia married Don Lopez in Delta, Colorado.
To this union, two children were born. Senovia and Don were
married 18 years before they went their separate ways.
Senovia, a beloved mother and grandmother, enjoyed cooking,
traveling and was a hard worker. More importantly, she loved and
cherished her family and will be greatly missed by those who had
the privilege of getting to know her.
Senovia is survived by her son, Rick Lopez of Grand Junction, and
a daughter, Tina Lopez (Tracy Carls) of Illinois. She is further survived
by four grandchildren, Cheri (Darrell) Taylor, Michael and
Matthew Carpenter and Lisa Lopez; one great grandson, Colton;
four sisters, Margaret Olvera of Delta, Colorado; Catherine(George)
Salazar of Naturita; Pat Abeyta (Deo) of Glendale, Arizonia; Lucia
Trujillo of Sante Fe, New Mexico; one brother, Felix
(Tillie)Trujillo of Delta, and several nieces and nephews.
Senovia was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Elzira
Manzanares (Eddy) Don Lopez, and two brothers-in-law, Ruben
Olvera and Frank Carrasco.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be
made in Senovia's name to the Hospice Care Center in Grand Junction.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral
Service and Crematory.
